Five-week restrictions will run from Monday 21 September to Friday 23 October as part of the Mountjoy Road/Gortin Road improvement scheme, with a signed diversion in place and weekend closures included.

As part of the Mountjoy Road/Gortin Road widening works, a continuous one-way traffic arrangement will operate on Strathroy Road for five weeks, starting on Monday 21 September and ending on Friday 23 October.

Strathroy Road will be closed to all traffic travelling towards Gortin Road from Shergrim Glen. The road will remain open for vehicles travelling from Gortin Road in the opposite direction.

A signed diversion will be in operation throughout the works. Main diversion: U1528 Strathroy Road, B0048 Strathroy Link Road, B0048 Derry Road, B0048 Abbey Street, B0048 McConnell Place, B0048 Sedan Avenue, B0048 Mountjoy Road, B0048 Gortin Road.

The one-way closure will be continuous, including over weekends, to support safe and efficient completion of the scheme and to protect both the workforce and road users.

The Department has planned the works and traffic management to minimise disruption. Road users should allow extra time for journeys and follow the clearly signed alternative route on approaches to the closure. Access for property owners and for deliveries will be maintained.

Completion remains subject to favourable weather conditions.
