Ballyroan Library will temporarily close for refurbishment from 26 September to 10 October, inclusive.

During this period a pop-up library service will operate outside the building, Monday to Saturday, from 9:45am to 4:30pm, running from Monday 28 September to Saturday 10 October. Visitors can return books, collect reserved items and access a limited range of services at the pop-up.

A Mobile Library will attend the Rathfarnham Village Festival on Sunday 27 September from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Regular local Mobile Library stops will also continue each week: every Tuesday at Ballycullen Green, Ballycullen (2:30–3:30pm), Hunters Walk, Ballycullen (3:45–4:30pm), Parklands Road, Ballycullen (5:30–6:20pm) and Kilakee Green, Firhouse (6:30–7:30pm); and every Thursday at Rathfarnham Castle Park (2:30–3:30pm), Scholarstown Wood, Knocklyon (3:30–4:30pm), Templeroan Lawn, Knocklyon (5:30–6:20pm) and White Pines Meadow, Ballycullen (6:30–7:30pm).

Members can use any other library in the branch network during the closure, and digital services including eBooks and ePress remain available.

The library is scheduled to reopen on 12 October, in time for the Red Line Book Festival. A second phase of refurbishment will take place from 19 to 23 October; the library will stay open during these dates, although some minor disruption is expected.
