Families, businesses and the wider community are set to benefit from the upgrade, which will reinforce the local water network and help ensure it can meet rising demand in the years ahead.

The scheme is being delivered under Uisce Éireann's Accelerated Growth Programme, which provides additional water and wastewater capacity to support housing and sustainable development across Ireland.

Uisce Éireann Programme Manager Patricia Lowry explained: "This investment will strengthen the water network in Letterkenny and help ensure there is sufficient capacity to support future housing and development in the area. By delivering this infrastructure now, we are helping to prepare Letterkenny for future growth while continuing to provide reliable water services for existing homes and businesses."

Works will be carried out by Farrans on behalf of Uisce Éireann and are scheduled for completion early next year.

Temporary traffic lights will operate along the route while construction is under way. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times, and work areas will be kept as short as possible to minimise disruption.

This investment will help ensure Letterkenny has the infrastructure it needs to support new homes, businesses and community development well into the future.
