Marian Harkin, Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, has confirmed that Gas Networks Ireland is inviting applications for its 2027 Graduate Programme, offering paid positions to recent and prospective graduates and postgraduates from science, technology, engineering and maths fields.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, 16 October 2026. Successful candidates will begin a full-time, two-year programme in October 2027. Eligible applicants must be recent or soon-to-graduate candidates (including postgraduates) holding at least a Level 8 degree with a minimum 2:2 in a relevant STEM discipline, and be fully entitled to work in Ireland for the duration of the programme.

Designed to develop future leaders in the energy and utilities sector, the programme blends hands-on project work with structured training, mentoring and wellbeing supports. Graduates rotate through multiple departments, gaining broad experience while building technical, leadership and communication skills.
