ROCKWOOL UK & Ireland has appointed Melanie Marquard as Commercial Director as the insulation manufacturer continues to expand its UK operations.

Marquard joins ROCKWOOL from Scandinavian roofing membrane manufacturer Protan, where she most recently served as Managing Director for Western Europe.

She has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry, including extensive work in the building materials sector. Protan is also a customer of ROCKWOOL.

The appointment comes as ROCKWOOL pursues plans to expand its manufacturing presence in the UK. The company is planning a new factory in the West Midlands while continuing to invest in its existing stone wool production facility in South Wales.

In her new position, Marquard will lead ROCKWOOL's specification teams covering fire protection, roofing and external walls.

She will also work with systems holders, distribution partners and merchants across the UK and Ireland, with a focus on developing relationships throughout the construction supply chain and responding to changing customer and partner requirements.

Marquard said she was looking forward to building on ROCKWOOL’s position in the market and supporting customers as the construction sector responds to changing regulations and increasing demands around building performance and sustainability.
