BAM has reached a key construction milestone on the new ASIT Building at TUS Moylish in Limerick, with the project officially topping out. The event was celebrated during a visit by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless TD, who laid a ceremonial brick to acknowledge progress on the scheme.

Acting as main contractor, BAM is delivering a contemporary teaching and research hub at the heart of the campus. When finished, the facility will house specialist science laboratories, modern computer suites, flexible teaching spaces, a large lecture theatre and academic offices, strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) provision and research capacity across the region.

Darren Devane, Director of Building – Ireland, said: "Reaching the topping-out stage is a significant achievement for everyone involved in the project and reflects the strong collaboration with the NDFA, Invesis, TUS Moylish and all project stakeholders.

Darren went on to say: "It's rewarding to see this new facility taking shape and the opportunities it will create for future students, researchers and staff. We look forward to continuing our work with our partners as the project progresses towards completion in 2027."

Construction began in 2025 and forms part of the second phase of Ireland's Higher Education Public Private Partnership Programme, which is delivering modern STEM facilities across multiple third-level institutions nationwide.

The new building will support capacity for approximately 700 additional students and help address future skills needs in the Mid-West and beyond. The topping-out marks another step forward in providing modern, sustainable educational infrastructure across Ireland and underscores BAM's ongoing commitment to creating high-quality environments where people and communities can thrive.
