Tipperary County Council has confirmed a temporary nightly closure of the N24 between Knockagh and Derrygrath to facilitate a pavement improvement scheme.
Closures will operate Monday to Friday from 19:30 to 06:00. While the original schedule ran from Monday 28 September to Friday 16 October 2026, the council has revised the start date following progress on the works programme.
Tipperary County Council said: "Please note The N24 will remain open this week, and will not close on nights until the 5th of October due to gains made in the works programme, thus reducing the period of closure from 3 weeks to 2 weeks. Completion date for the works on the N24 at night between Cahir and Clonmel remains the 16th of October 2026."
Traffic will be diverted via the R687 and R639. The scheme includes pavement resurfacing, asphalt laying and associated road construction works, requiring a full night-time closure for the safety of road users and roadworks personnel.
