Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has authorised John Paul Construction to carry out works outside normal construction hours at Dún Brí (the Dundrum Mental Hospital site) to deliver, install and erect a tower crane over the weekend of 3 and 4 October.
The approved working hours are:
Saturday 3 October: 8.00am to 5.00pm
Sunday 4 October: 8.00am to 4.00pm
Due to the complex and high-risk nature of the operation, the works cannot be undertaken during standard site hours. The crane will be erected at the front of the development, adjacent to the main entrance, and a large exclusion zone will be in place for safety. Scheduling the activity at the weekend will minimise risk to workers, visitors and vehicles entering and leaving the site.
The Council has granted this temporary derogation to enable the works to be completed safely and efficiently while reducing disruption to normal site activities.
