Adrian Pollock, operations director (Civils) at construction and civil engineering firm McLaughlin & Harvey, has been named Outstanding Contributor at the 2026 Northern Ireland Construction Awards.

Run by the Construction Employers Federation (CEF), the prestigious awards bring together the sector to celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations, highlighting strong partnerships, innovative projects and best-in-class initiatives.

Pollock's accolade reflects his contribution to major schemes across Northern Ireland, including work with Translink and the restoration of the Gobbins Cliff Path, alongside his problem-solving skills and the rollout of new programmes to advance a greener future.

As Translink's primary point of contact, he was instrumental in securing McLaughlin & Harvey's place on Translink's FW122 Permanent Way Major Projects Framework, supporting delivery of capital and maintenance works over the next five years.

Commenting on the win, Adrian Pollock, operations director (Civils) at McLaughlin & Harvey, said: "I'm honoured to have received the Outstanding Contributor award. In nearly two decades at McLaughlin & Harvey, I've had the privilege of working on some of our biggest civil engineering projects across Northern Ireland, building strong relationships with our clients and supply chain partners while helping support a greener transport network."

WorkSpace – a specialist division of McLaughlin & Harvey – was also shortlisted, in partnership with Translink, for Infrastructure Project of the Year for delivering the Translink Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Infrastructure Programme.

The initiative marks a significant investment in sustainable public transport across Northern Ireland, spanning five major depots and culminating in the installation of new electric bus charging systems to support the region's net zero ambitions.

Gary McDonald, programme manager at Translink, said: "This recognition for the Translink Battery Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Programme is a testament to the collaboration, innovation and technical excellence that our team and WorkSpace demonstrated throughout this project.

"WorkSpace delivered a complex programme of works safely and without disruption, ensuring the depots remained fully operational and making a significant contribution to supporting our zero-emission ambitions."
