Killenaule Set To Gain From Completed Water Network Upgrades

Construction News Image

Households and businesses in Killenaule can expect a sturdier, more reliable water supply as Uisce Éireann completes significant upgrades to the local network.

The project saw more than 5.3km of ageing water mains replaced with modern, resilient pipes, tackling frequent bursts and leaks that had led to service interruptions and the loss of treated drinking water. The upgrades aim to underpin everyday life and local commerce with clean, dependable water.

The improved network is designed to deliver greater reliability for homes and enterprises in Killenaule and the surrounding area for years to come.

Dave Murphy of Uisce Éireann said: "These works are an important part of delivering a water service built to last. By replacing ageing pipes with modern, resilient infrastructure, we're improving water services today while strengthening resilience for the future.

"Our teams work with great care and experience to reduce the risk of supply interruptions for customers during works and we’re grateful to the local community for their patience and support throughout these essential upgrades. This investment is rooted in care for the people we serve."

While all pipework and customer connections are now complete, final road reinstatement remains outstanding and is scheduled to be finished in the coming months, subject to weather conditions.
