A new £16.8 million purpose built Juvenile Justice Centre has been officially opened in Bangor, County Down.
The construction at Woodlands was self-funded through the sale of surrounding land.
The state-of-the-art building was unveiled by Secretary of State, Shaun Woodward.
Mr Woodward said the project underlined the Government's commitment to providing modern day facilities to meet the demands of a modern day juvenile justice system.
The centre can house up to 48 young people, and has been specifically designed to accommodate both boys and girls.
