Cemex Closes Due To Housing Sector Down-turn

Cemex based in Naas, County Kildare, has announced plans to close, resulting in the loss of 50 jobs.

The Mexican-based building materials firm says the facility is no longer sustainable due to the down-turn in the housing sector.

However SIPTU, which represents workers at the plant, says it is still profitable.
