The Dublin City Development Plan 2005 - 2011 has been varied by designating Dartmouth Square as an Architectural Conservation Area.
The proposed draft variation arises from objective H7 of the Dublin City Development Plan 2005-2011 (Chapter 10 Heritage) which states that it is an objective of Dublin City Council to identify and designate at least eight new architectural conservation areas during the lifetime of the plan. Dartmouth Square has been identified as suitable for such designation.
The extent of the area includes the square itself and adjoining roads and buildings.
The exact boundaries of the proposed Architectural Conservation Area are delineated on the map accompanying the public display.
A copy of the proposed Draft Variation will be available for inspection at the Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 from Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) between the hours of 09.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. from Wednesday, 12th December, 2007 to Tuesday, 8th January, 2008 (both dates inclusive).
For convenience a non-statutory public display of Draft Variation No. 23 will also be held in Rathmines Public Library, 157 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6 during the Librarys normal opening hours.
