EPA Adjourns Incinerator Hearing

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has adjourned its hearing into the proposed licensing of the Dublin City Council incinerator at Poolbeg.

The council is seeking a licence from the EPA to run what would be one of the largest municipal waste incinerators in Europe, after being granted permission form An Bord Pleanála last year.

The hearing has been adjourned for a week so that the opposition to the waste incinerator have time to study the technical report on air quality and climate submitted this week.

Hearing chairperson Marie O'Connor said it would resume next Thursday.

It is expected that proceedings will conclude next week.
