You know what they say about those who live in glasshouses, apparently, they can only rent.
Well that’s the terms laid down by the developers behind Ireland’s first block of homes made entirely of glass.
Located in Dublin’s Grand Canal Quay, the luxury Alto Vetro tower has been tipped as the city’s "most beautiful building", however, those wishing to purchase a unit have had their dreams 'shattered'.
Treasury Holding, who owns the 27 metre tall building, is only releasing 26 apartments on to the letting market.
It was originally suggested the glass properties would have a clear cut price of around €500,000 each, but now the owners say they will only be leased.
No reason has been given for the decision, although many suggest the dip in the property market may be a key factor.
In the current market the original prices may have been squashed.
So if you fancy living in your own crystal palace you can expect to fork out around €2,500 and €3,500, depending on the floor level. A three level penthouse will cost you around €8,000 a month.
