One of Co Armagh's best-known hotels won't be making way for new residential accommodation.
The new owners of the Seagoe Hotel have denied suggestions that it is to be demolished to make way for apartments or town houses.
The Finell Group is determined to squash persistent speculation that the Seagoe is to be levelled and replaced by a development of luxury homes.
"Utter rubbish," said Finell Managing Director, Will Devlin. "We have big plans for the Seagoe.
"Already we are making changes, with brand new carpets being one of our investments and the walls and decor also getting a make-over. Our bedrooms are also being modernised.
"But the biggest single change will be to our upper gallery, which we plan to refurbish with a mini-gym, a billiards room and possibly a treatment room with sun beds, treadmills and exercise equipment," he insisted.
Initially these facilities will only be available to the residents, but if the demand justifies it they may be extended and opened to the general public.
He also highlighted the Seagoe's conference packages, plus its restaurant and bar facilities and concluded: "Rest assured that we aren’t going anywhere.
"We're here to stay. We’re committed to excellence, so we welcome any feedback on how we can deliver the highest standards."
