Search For NI Construction 'Excellence'

A call has been sounded for construction firms across Northern Ireland to vie for an industry award, aimed at finding best practice in the Province.

Constructing Excellence NI is looking for projects that are innovating or applying an element of best practice, which will ultimately lead to a step-change in project performance for the participating organisations.

Project participants must commit to learning and sharing from each other.

They are invited to take part in communities of best practice which bring together like-minded individuals from across various different demonstrations all committed to delivering a demonstrably better built environment.

Demonstration participants must also agree to measure their business performance with a range of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) both 'in project' and 'on completion' and will be given the opportunity to showcase their projects at numerous Constructing Excellence events in Northern Ireland.

The findings and results from each project will then be presented and available to the industry in a series of best practice case studies.

Organisations involved in demonstrations across the UK have made notable achievements in the following areas:

  • Better predictability on cost and time
  • Greater productivity than the industry average
  • Reduced impact on the environment
  • Fewer defects at handover
  • Higher customer satisfaction scores
Applications can be downloaded from the Constructing Excellence Website: www.constructingexcellence.ulster.ac.uk/DemonstrationProjects.php . Applications should be received by September 30, 2008. Further information can be obtained from Lorraine Campbell, Development Officer, Constructing Excellence in Northern Ireland on Tel (029) 9036 6559 or mailto:[email protected].
