Consultation has opened on plans for 45 new homes in Rowlestown, County Dublin.
The project, proposed by Fingal County Council, comprises two and three storey houses at a site on the corner of Church Road and Rowlestown Drive, in the village of Rowlestown.
The village of Rowlestown is the subject of a 2002 local area plan.
The area of the site is 1.8 hectares, with vehicle access primarily from Rowlestown Drive.
All houses will have a front and rear garden, with a number of the homes adapted for residents with special needs.
Planners have said the design of the scheme will be traditional, with coloured rendered walls, timber windows and doors.
Highly insulated concrete will be used in the constructuion, to maximise thermal performance.
Solar heating will provide most domestic hot water needs.
The houses will have a mixture of metal railing and garden walls.
The scheme will be connected to public and private utilities adjacent to the sites.
The scheme has also incorporated a pedestrian link between a new local school and the main village into its plans.
Consultation on the proposals ends 10 September 2008.
