TTFC Launches 'Green' Synergy Home

Construction News Image
The Timber Frame Company (TTFC) has announced the launch of a closed panel timber frame system dubbed 'Synergy Home' - the results of heavy investment by the firm.

The company has manufactured timber kits for residential and commercial clients for more than ten years.

TTFC has described the new product as the 'next step' in conventional timber framing.

Demands for greener and more efficient materials prompted the firm to enter the market of manufactured off-site housing, according to a spokesman.

The new system incorporates a conventional timber frame kit, with external wall thickness to suit the required u-value of the customer; a 22mmm wall gives a u-value of 0.18 with a 150mm wall giving 0.26.

The panels are pre-fitted with electric conduits as per electrical schedules, which are then insulted and slabbed in TTFC's factory using high-density rigidur board slab.

The firm then fits the house with energy efficient window and door - a wide selection of which are offered to the customer.

Before the house finally leaves for site, the firm can fit cladding or cement board to the external ready for a render finished to be applied on site.

Despite this construction technique being popular in Europe, few systems are exported to Ireland.

Now an Irish firm has stepped-up to design and manufacture a domestic product that meets the needs of conditions in the country, a TTFC spokesman said.

Synergy Home has attracted much interest from both the private and commercial sectors.

TTFC has already reported orders for many one-off private and commercial development in Dublin.
