A council report had previously proposed to make Ogle Street one-way as part of the overall Environmental Improvement Scheme in the city centre.
The study recommended that to ease congestion in the streets, included in that scheme, Ogle Street should become 'one-way out' in the direction of Irish Street.

Last month, Roads Service delivered a presentation to city councillors detailing new traffic modelling information.
This information became available as part of ongoing works to deliver the new link roads around the city.
An Armagh City Council spokesman said: "We understand that this data supports the case for making Ogle Street 'one-way in' as the best option for wider city traffic circulation and the strategic road network."
"Roads Service has advised that the legislative process to make Ogle Street one-way in the direction of Thomas Street will now commence during which the general public will have the opportunity to air their views on the proposed change," added the spokesman.
