A new Educational and Recreational Centre has been opened in St. Teresa's Gardens in Dublin.
Communities Minister John Curran officially unveiled the facility yesterday.
The new centre forms part of Dublin City Council's regeneration programme for the Liberties area.
Included in the building is a computer training room, sponsored by Dublin City Council and the Digital Community Programme, with Broadband Internet access provided by Eircom.
Centered on the needs of the local community, the facility is expected to run computer courses for the complete beginner right up to Microsoft accredited courses.
The centre will also provide cookery classes for young parents, a book club for children and a nail and hair bar.
"This new Educational and Recreational Centre will be the heart of the regeneration of St. Teresa's Gardens. It will be a place for all members of the community to come to learn and to enjoy," said Dublin Lord Mayor Eibhlin Byrne.
