Tender For City Watermains Work

Galway City Council has invited tenders for a major watermains replacement scheme at Old Mervue.

The council is seeking a civil engineering contractor to complete the work, a spokesman said.

Works will involve the replacement of the lead distribution watermains, which requires Horizontal Directional Drilling Services


"The Contractor shall be appointed as Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS). This will be an open procedure as detailed under the Department of Finance National Public Procurement Policy Unit," the spokesman said.

The competition being run by Galway City Council was advertised in the 'Invitation to Tender' published on the Department of Finance's eTenders Public Procurement website for public tenders www.etenders.gov.ie on Friday 30th January 2009.

The closing date for receipt of tenders is 4pm March 26.
