A Labour councillor has lambasted plans for a major housing development in Fingal.

Peter Coyle said the 43-apartment scheme in Kinsealy will have a negative impact on existing communities in the area.

Mr Coyle claimed the two-block development, which is proposed to be built on the Feltrim Road, would directly affect those living in the nearby Kinsealy Court, and residents in other surrounding areas.

Developer J McNerney has lodged the planning application with Fingal County Council.

The council has asked for additional information on the development to help it make a decision on planning permission.

Two bungalows will be demolished under the plans and replaced by two apartment blocks in an 'L' shape and a height of two and three storeys.

The 43 apartments will be made up of 24 two-bedroom apartments, nine one-bed apartments, three three-bed apartments and seven three bedroom duplex apartments.

The development will also include 92 car parking spaces, 69 at basement level and 23 at ground level. Access to the proposed development is from the Feltrim Road to the south-west of the site.
