Over €380,000 has been allocated to a Co Galway community hall to carry out necessary up-grade works.
Announcing the investment, Communities Minister Éamon Ó Cuív said the funding would go towards a series of improvement works at the Coiste Pobail Chill Chiaráin.
In total a grant of €319,760 has been sanctioned under the Improvements Scheme and a grant of €63,952 under the CLÁR Programme.
A new roof will replace the current asbestos roof; a new heating system will be installed; and the building will be rewired.
The hall will also be customized for use by the disabled, and restoration work will be carried out on the car park.
Minister Ó Cuív said he was "very happy" his department could assist with the restoration of the building because of the excellent work carried out there.
"From a health and safety perspective, it is vital that this work be done," he said.
"This, in turn, will mean greater use of the amenity. Also, this building is very important to the Irish Language Summer College."
