Marks & Spencer has become Clonmel's Showgrounds Shopping Centre's first anchor tenant, as the first phase of the development opens.
The 23,000 square foot store is the first Marks & Spencer to open in the south east, bringing 100 new jobs to the area.
Jonathan Smith, Marks & Spencer, Head of Ireland, said: "We have been looking for a suitable site in the south east and are very pleased to have secured such a great location."
The Showgrounds Shopping Centre is a brand new 120,000 square feet development, due for full completion by September.
Peter O'Meara from Savills HOK, joint agents for the scheme, said: "The Showgrounds is a prime destination and we have received a highly positive response from retailers who see Clonmel as under supplied in terms of retail choice."
Designed by Fewer Harrington Lawlor Architects, The Showgrounds integrates with the existing urban fabric of the town.
