Work has started on a new Limavady community centre building.
The project has been back by the borough council and will be developed on the site of the former town hall building in Main Street.
Works are due for completion in mid 2010.
The centre is set to serve a wide range of community interests, and provide a performance theatre, local and visitor information and retail areas, arts and crafts workshops and display areas for arts, photography and heritage objects.
The centre will also have multi purpose rooms suitable for meetings, conferences, rehearsals, dance and drama workshops and events.
"A lot of work has gone into building this new centre. But the last brick in the wall is being left up to you," a council spokesman said.
Limavady Borough Council is inviting the community to name the new centre.
"This is a legacy, left for all the people of Limavady borough, when the new Causeway Coast and Glens District Council comes into being in May 2011. Council is keen to see this reflected in a name chosen for the building, not associated with any one person’s achievements, past or present," said the spokesman.
"All suggestions will be given consideration in Council’s deliberations and the name chosen will be made public as soon as possible. A prize will be presented to the winning contributor."
