A Monaghan-based furniture firm has completed the fit-out for a new student library at Cavan Institute, one of Ireland's largest colleges of further education.

Recently established Vermilion beat off stiff competition from other contract furniture companies to provide a modern furniture fit-out at the Institute campus on Cootehill Road, Cavan.

The brief was to create an up-to-date, engaging study space that would boost learning and productivity among students.

The library has been designed to serve many functions including individual reading space, areas for focus study groups and IT workstations.

In addition, Vermilion provided book storage, multimedia display areas, formal and informal seating areas and a wheelchair accessible reception desk for the students attending the Institute.

Business owner Sara McQuaid said she was delighted with the opportunity to get involved in the project.

"Having mainly been working in the office fit-out sector over the past number of years, a fit-out of this kind brings a new area of speciality that Vermilion can add to its portfolio," she said.
