About Access & Lifting Services

About us
Founded in 1974, we have been privately owned by the same family since the business was formed. The business was founded by Colin, having completed an Apprenticeship with a local engineering company.

He started out producing small fabrications, eventually expanding across many sectors, including construction, foundry, warehousing, factories and manufacturing, leisure, and automotive.

In 1994, Colin handed the running of the business over to his son, Steve, who since then has steadily grown the business to where it is today.

The business has always been proudly based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, where all of our manufacturing process is based.

It’s Steve’s hometown, and the business supports local clubs and charities, including Market Harborough Rugby Club, Harborough Against Bullying, Cransley Hospice, and Stoke Albany Parish Council.

We’re perfectly placed in the heart of the country, with fantastic road links within the M1/M6/A14 triangle. This makes us perfectly placed to serve the whole of the UK.

Lifting gear
Whatever the challenges of your project, we design, manufacture and supply a wide range of lifting gear and access products to cover a huge range of applications.

Powered access refers to equipment that is designed to lift personnel, tools and materials to work safely at height. The most common types of powered access equipment are Mobile Elevating Work Platforms or MEWPs, and Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs).

Steel Fabrication & Lifting Gear

Test & Inspect
Testing and inspecting lifting gear is crucial to ensure its safety and efficiency. Here are some benefits of testing and inspecting lifting gear:
  • Ensures compliance with regulations
  • Prevents accidents
  • Increases lifespan of equipment
  • Reduces downtime
  • Boosts confidence in equipment
  • Enhances safety culture

Loose Tackle
Loose tackle refers to the equipment and tools used for lifting and moving heavy objects in various industries, such as construction and manufacturing.

For over 30 years, we’ve been sourcing and testing the best equipment to suit our client needs. Which means we’ve built a trusted network of suppliers for various pieces of equipment.

We sell a range of quality products, including:

Scapingsteel Garden Edges
Scapingsteel is our own self-fit metal edging, that can be used across a variety of uses in your garden and overall landscaping.

Our most popular option is 3mm thick mild steel, available at our standard depth of 80mm in 4m lengths.

This has proved popular because it creates a neat, unobtrusive edge, and is extremely easy for the customer to fit themselves.
