Northern Ireland Water (NI Water) is to carry out essential sewer laying along a section of the Whitepark Road (A2) in Bushmills from 17th May for a period of two weeks as part of its £6.5 million Bushmills/Portballintrae Wastewater Treatment Project.
In a bid to keep traffic disruption to a minimum, NI Water, in liaison with Roads Service, has programmed this work to take place after the North West 200 event and before the last Bank Holiday Monday in May.
NI Water and its contractors, GEDA Construction, will implement a lane closure on the short section of Whitepark Road, which will be affected by the work (approximately 100m adjacent to the entrance to the new Wastewater Treatment Works).
All pipelaying work will take place during normal working hours (8am – 5pm) and traffic flow for the period will be managed using a temporary traffic light system.
