NI Water has announced that an essential programme of Sewer Improvement Work will get underway in January 2013 in the Linen Gardens/Abetta Parade area of East Belfast.

Approximately 500,000 has been invested in this programme of work, which will commence in mid-January 2013 and will last approximately 6 months.

The sewerage infrastructure in this area is aging and in poor condition, and requires urgent upgrading. The scheme will update the existing infrastructure, improve the local river water quality and will make sure that the infrastructure complies with Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) standards.
