SDLP Councillor Brian Heading has welcomed the progress made by Roads Service on resurfacing work in Mount Eagles.

Mr Heading said: "I welcome the progress made on some much needed improvement work in the Mount Eagles area. This work is vitally important to residents in the area particularly after the heavy snowfall in March.

"I would encourage Roads service to roll out the road surfacing programme as soon as possible given that parts of the estate have been without an adequate road service for over 7 years.

"From my communications with Roads Service I understand the work will begin in October. It is essential that this work is completed before the winter months set in."
