Resurfacing Scheme To Begin In Portaferry

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy announced the start of a £160,000 major resurfacing scheme on the A2 Cloughy Road, Portaferry this week.

Preparatory works will commence on Monday 11 November 2013.

The Minister said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength and quality of the carriageway on this A class route on the Eastern side of the Ards Peninsula."

To help minimise any potential conflict between the site works and traffic associated with the travelling public it will be necessary to operate lane closures with temporary traffic signals and road closures during the course of the works. Diversions during the road closures will be agreed with the PSNI and signposted accordingly.
