Consultation On A5 Western Corridor Scheme Opens

The consultation on A5 Western Transport Corridor Scheme has opened.

It will focus on the Tully Bog Special Area of Conservation.

Sinn Féin West Tyrone MLA Declan McAleer welcomed the news and said it represents progress in moving to the next stage.

He said: This consultation will begin today, 15th October, and last until the 28th November.

"I share the hopes of the overwhelming majority of people in the west that this scheme will get underway as soon as possible thereafter.

"The A5 represents the prospect to create a new transport infrastructure for the North West region as well as opening the region up for employment and economic opportunities."
