Over 75,000 People Attend European Heritage Open Day Events

Over 75,000 people participated in the European Heritage Open Day events which were held across Northern Ireland this year.

75,610 people attended the events, an increase of 11% compared to last year.

The weekend saw more than 400 buildings and events participating.

This year, the event saw the first ever free film location talks in Northern Ireland given by location managers for BBC thriller 'The Fall', HBO's 'Game of Thrones' and Universal's 'Dracula Untold'.

The Northern Ireland Tourist Board, who host the EHOD webpage within Discover NI, said they are "extremely impressed" with how the event has grown.

Naomi Waite, NITB Director of Marketing said: "The Northern Ireland Tourist Board was delighted to host the EHOD webpage within discovernorthernireland.com which provided information and updates on the widest choice of free activities throughout this fantastic weekend.

"I am extremely impressed with the significant increase in the number of pageviews to this site and the huge number of visitors attracted to this years' event."
