A new energy scheme which could provide energy savings for properties in Northern Ireland is being looked into by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI).
The new EnergyWise scheme is being developed by the DETI in collaboration with Department of Social Development (DSD) and the Office of First Minister and deputy First Minister (OFMDFM) with support from the Utility Regulator.
Subject to funding availability and the necessary approvals, EnergyWise will replace the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) when it ends in March 2017.
Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell said: "Energy efficiency helps consumers, to reduce their energy usage. This in turn helps lower their bills and also assists greatly with helping to reduce fuel poverty across Northern Ireland. Energy efficiency also underpins security of supply issues. There are also environmental benefits of reduced carbon emissions."
