Two Men Jailed After Protesting Against Water Charges

Two men have been remanded in custody for protesting against water charges.

Sinn Féin TD John Brady said it is "disgraceful" that Sean Doyle and Eamon McGrath have been jailed.

Deputy Brady said: "It is the petty revenge of a Government that did not get its own way with water charges.

"The Government has admitted that domestic water charges are on the way out by suspending water charges in the immediate future. This would not have happened without demonstrations and protests against this unfair and unjust tax."
