Sinn Fein Councillor Noeleen Reilly said it is looking "dramatically different" after Dublin City Council and the residents cleaned up the area.
The residents also had a Street Feast event to celebrate.
Cllr Reilly said: "Residents over the last year have completely transformed this area with the help of DCC.

"Once a hive for anti social behaviour and illegal dumping, the area is looking dramatically different these days with all the outer walls painted by residents and the creation of a community garden now in the very heart of the area which once caused so much distress for residents.
"Illegal dumping and anti social behaviour has greatly reduced and that is down to residents deciding they wanted something better for their area.
"It was great over the last number of weeks seeing hundreds of residents out cleaning up the area, all spearheaded by a dogged resident Karen McKevit who started the transformation less than a year ago."
