Refurbishment work on a bridge is Maghera, Co L'Derry, has been completed.
A total of £200,000 was invested in the reconstruction work which also included the provision of a new footway across the bridge and refurbishment and strengthening of the old twin span masonry arch.
The work involved the removal of the existing parapet walls, casting new reinforced concrete foundations on driven piles. The placement of precast concrete segmental arch units, rebuilding new stone retaining and parapet walls, construction of a new footway and carriageway re surfacing across the bridge were also undertaken.
