Work is moving forward on the construction of new water mains in Arklow, Co Wicklow.
Irish Water is delivering 3.1km of new mains along St Peters Place.
The utility has warned residents in the area of a disruption to the water supply today, 08 May, from 9am-1pm during the works. Following these improvement works the water supply may take two-three hours to return as the network refills.
These works are being carried out as part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme which will, over the next four years, see €500 million invested to reduce the level of leakage across the country by fixing and replacing ageing water mains. This will ensure a safe, reliable water supply.
