Repairs have started at Ballyjamesduff water treatment plant in Cavan following a mechanical issue.
Irish Water has issued a warning to customers in the area there may be reduced pressure and/or a water outage today due to the works.
The utility's drinking water operational experts are working with colleagues in Cavan County Council to resolve this situation as soon as possible. Works have an estimated completion time of 11pm today, 12 March. It may take two to three hours for a full water supply to return after this time, especially for properties in higher lying areas.
Irish Water and Cavan County Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank customers for their patience while we carry out these repairs.
