A programme of proposed improvements to Portrush Recreational Grounds has taken a major step forward with a key appointment.

FP McCann has signed a deal to serve as the Main Contractor for the project, which will see a multi-use recreational area and new pavilion building created at the site.

Other works include improvements to play areas, leisure areas and other associated spaces and features within a coastal town in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB).

Under the contract, FP McCann will demolish the existing pavilion building, excavate and dispose of all materials arising from the existing recreation grounds surfaces and demolitions, as well as paving and kerbing using concrete setts and exposed concrete finish products.

The project is behind delivered on behalf of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council with the support of Department for Communities and the UK Government Levelling Up Fund.
