Work is underway to upgrade the water network in Portmarnock, Fingal, as part of continued development and growth in the area.
Irish Water is working with Fingal County Council to carry out works, impacting customers on Carrickhill Rd and surrounding areas in Portmarnock who may experience temporary, intermittent low pressure and/or water outages on Thursday 03 March from 4pm until 9pm.
Typically it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas but it is important to continue to follow the HSE guidance on hand-washing.
Vulnerable customers who have already registered with Irish Water will receive direct communications regarding this water outage.
Speaking about the works, Dave Murphy, Irish Water said: "Irish Water understands that essential upgrade works can be inconvenient and, working in partnership with our colleagues in Fingal County Council, we will make every effort to minimise the disruption that these necessary works may cause.
"Customers may experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and occasionally issues such as internal airlocks may arise. For advice on clearing discoloration and airlocks, visit the Issues during or after an outage section of our website."
Traffic management and a Stop/Go system will be in place on Carrickhill Road for the duration of the works.
