Plans To Develop NI's EV Infrastructure Set Out

Proposals to enhance electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Northern Ireland have been laid out in a new Action Plan.

The Action Plan for EV Infrastructure was officially published by the Department for Infrastructure. It was developed by the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Task-Force which was set up in December 2021 to bring together representatives from government, consumers, energy providers, industry and EV drivers to consider NI's EV Infrastructure requirements to deliver a fit for purpose, modern EV charging network.


Increased provision of charging infrastructure and operators, the cost of charging and how to pay for charging have been highlighted as fundamental issues which need to be addressed now for people wanting to make the transition from petrol and diesel to electric vehicles.
