Tyre manufacturer Michelin has unveiled a new range of tyres for loader and articulated dump trucks, built to cater for the more powerful and sturdy vehicles that operate in modern quarries.

Badged Michelin Xtra Defend E4 L4, the new range has a load capacity of up to 25,400 kg per tyre, and a speed ranging up to 14 kph, designed for the latest generation of loaders that boast significant increases in load capacity, speed, and transmission torque.

Developed to adapt to intensive cycles on both hard and muddy ground, the new tyres are said by the manufacturer to offer great mobility under difficult conditions, on aggressive surfaces during loading and transport cycles.

With six sizes available, the Xtra Defend E4 L4 range – which is also retreadable – increases Michelin’s construction tyre offering from 25" to 29".
