David Walsh Civil Engineering is currently progressing construction of a new Water Treatment Plant in Gowran, County Kilkenny, on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
This project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, represents a significant investment in the Gowran Regional Water Supply Scheme that will enhance the quality and security of the water supply across Gowran, Goresbridge, and Paulstown, benefitting over 1,200 customers.
Along with the construction of a brand-new water treatment plant, the project also includes the construction of treated water storage tanks, rising mains, and the development of additional groundwater sources to supplement existing supply arrangements.
The project will also provide additional capacity for new connections to the water supply scheme, supporting growth and development in Gowran and the surrounding areas.
Discussing the works, Darragh Hannon, Uisce Éireann's Programme Manager, said: "This multi-million Euro investment will greatly benefit the local communities. The new water treatment plant and related infrastructure are essential for the area, supporting future growth and development while ensuring a continued supply of safe and secure water for existing communities."
