A revitalised green space in the heart of Armoy village is quickly becoming a popular and safe meeting place for residents of all ages, following new funding to support its ongoing development.

Armoy Community Association has received a £1,832 Housing Executive community involvement grant to help maintain Limepark Playing Fields to a higher environmental standard. The funding is being used to enhance the site, including improvements to paths and seating, helping to create a more accessible and welcoming environment for the local community.

Deirdre Casey, Housing Executive Neighbourhood Renewal Officer, Causeway, said: "We are confident that this beautiful park with its community garden will help to reduce social isolation and loneliness in the area.

"Already a popular spot this new-look Limepark is sure to attract even more groups to enjoy outdoor activities and enjoy each other’s company surrounded by nature."

Ruth McNeill, Community Development Officer at Armoy Community Association, highlighted the impact of the funding on the local area. “This funding is helping us transform Limepark Playing Fields into a space where our community can thrive.

"With improved paths and comfortable seating, Limepark will be a safer, more accessible environment for all.

"These lasting improvements will enable us to continue to support positive wellbeing for the whole community."
