Louth County Council has hailed a transformative investment by Equinix and Hanley Energy, as plans were unveiled for a new $700 million advanced manufacturing facility in Dundalk, Co. Louth.

The 150,000 sq. ft. development is set to become a hub for the production of next-generation power systems for global data centres, significantly bolstering international supply chains for digital infrastructure.

The project is expected to create hundreds of high-skilled positions in the region. Recruitment has already commenced for an initial intake of 200 engineers and technicians, marking a major boost for the local economy and the "M1 corridor" industrial landscape.

Following the groundbreaking ceremony, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, Cllr Seán Kelly, stated: "This is a proud day for Louth. Today's announcement is a strong endorsement of our county's ambition, capability, and talent. The scale of this investment and the creation of so many high-quality jobs represent a major vote of confidence in Dundalk and in our local workforce. I warmly congratulate Hanley Energy and Equinix on this transformative development."

David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council, emphasized the strategic importance of the site, noting that it highlights the county's growing role in supporting global advanced manufacturing. The facility will focus on accelerating the delivery of critical power technologies, further positioning Louth as a key player in the global tech-manufacturing ecosystem.
