Uisce Éireann is repairing a major mains burst affecting customers in Enniscorthy and surrounding areas of County Wexford, with teams on-site and working to bring supplies back as quickly as possible.

The burst happened overnight. Crews are currently on-site excavating the damaged section and examining options to bypass the affected area so some customers can have water restored while full repairs continue.

Padraig Lyng, Water Operations Manager, Wexford, said: "Our crews have been working since early this morning to repair the burst and restore water supply to customers as quickly as possible. We understand the inconvenience that a loss of water supply causes for homes, businesses, and the wider community in Enniscorthy and surrounding areas, and we thank customers for their patience while these essential repairs are carried out."

Repairs are expected to be completed later today. After works finish, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to return as the network recharges, with those at the end of the network or on higher ground potentially waiting longer.
