Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed a £675,000 road improvement scheme for Ballycorr Road, Ballyclare, commencing on 27 July 2026.

The project will cover approximately 0.84km from the junction with the C37 Ballyeaston Road to the Craighill Manor junction, delivering new surfacing to both the carriageway and footway.

Minister Kimmins said: "This is a substantial investment for the Ballyclare area which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users. The investment demonstrates my commitment to investing in and improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. This work will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of the road network to the benefit of residents, businesses and those travelling in the Ballyclare area. Work is expected to be substantially completed by Thursday 5 November 2026. I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."

To enable safe delivery, a road closure will operate from 8am to 6pm between Monday 27 July and Friday 28 August 2026. After that, the closure times will be adjusted to accommodate school traffic until the scheme is completed by Thursday 5 November 2026.

During the closure, a signed diversion will be in place via: C37 Ballyeaston Road – C37 Ballyeaston Village – C37 Lower Ballyboley Road – U60 Ballycorr Road – C37 Church Road, and vice versa.

The Department has programmed works and traffic management to minimise disruption. While local access and Translink bus and school services will be maintained where possible, road users should expect delays, allow extra time and follow all temporary traffic restrictions.

Subject to favourable weather, the scheme is due to be substantially completed by Thursday 5 November 2026.
