A £757,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on Belsize Road, Lisburn is set to start on Monday 19 October 2026, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed.
The project covers essential resurfacing between Kirkwood's Road and Boomers Road and includes associated improvements to kerbs and footways.
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said: "This is a substantial investment which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users and demonstrates my commitment to improving our roads, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
To minimise disruption, off-peak lane closures will operate daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Road closures will be required towards the end of the scheme to complete the works.
The Department said operations and traffic management have been arranged to reduce inconvenience. While steps have been taken to accommodate local access, road users should expect some delays, allow extra time for journeys and comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.
Subject to favourable weather, the works are expected to be substantially complete by 17 March 2027. The Department will keep the public informed of any changes. For more information about this and other improvement schemes visit: www.TrafficwatchNI.com.
